ADHD Therapy
With Jennifer Dodd, LMFT
I’m an ADHD - Certified Clinical Services Provider with ADHD myself. I understand what it’s like to know you need to do something but struggle to actually do it, or fall into a rabbit hole along the way.
Do you know what you need to do but just can’t get yourself to do it?
Do you start projects and struggle to finish them?
Some clients struggle with focus, clutter or impulsivity. Others face emotional ups and downs, or feeling overwhelmed by everyday demands. ADHD also affects self-esteem, work, and relationships.
ADHD Therapy with me is not about willpower. We’ll look at what works best for your flavor of ADHD and what systems make daily life less exhausting.
Clients Come To Me With
These are some of the concerns that bring clients to me:
Trouble focusing
Can start, but never finish something
Emotional ups and downs
Overwhelm
Cluttered spaces + mind
Low self-esteem
Relationship struggles
Shutting down
Needing a break
Social exhaustion
How ADHD Therapy With Me Works
We’ll work on understanding your ADHD while also addressing the thoughts, emotions, habits, and relationship patterns that make addressing your ADHD needs harder.
Therapy is practical and collaborative. We’ll identify what needs attention, put simple systems in place, and work on skills that make everyday life more manageable. This is not about willpower. You can’t whiteknuckle your way out.
Modalities I Use
-
We challenge negative and unhelpful thoughts to reduce self-criticism and support stronger self-esteem.
-
We put practical systems in place to make tasks easier to help with overwhelm, organization, and finishing projects.
-
We explore patterns beneath current struggles and help you understand how your history affects your emotions and relationships.
-
We learn about how your brain works and how to set limits and boundaries, and help you understand what you need to make ADHD more workable.
ADHD Needs A Different Approach to Life + Work
Your stress, focus, and relationships don't exist in a vacuum — they're all connected. Looking at the full picture of who you are, not just a checklist of symptoms is where we start to untangle it all.
After Therapy With Me
Clients report:
Happier relationships
Emotional regulation
Know how to cope
Being less overwhelmed
Higher self-esteem
More finished projects
Improved performance at work
The goal is never perfection. It’s having a better understanding of what you need and knowing how to work with your ADHD.
“Every brain and every history is unique.
My goal isn't to force you into a rigid, one-size-fits-all box, it’s to help you understand your unique brain.”
